Oral Appliance Therapy

An oral appliance can be an effective and easy treatment for the snoring associated with sleep apnea, as well as for those patients who do not tolerate their C-PAP machines comfortably.

A dental appliance, made to wear during sleep, gently moves the lower jaw forward to make a positive change in the position of the tongue. It is this positioning which helps open the airway and increase breathing and ease the effects of sleep apnea and snoring.

Besides snoring, other common symptoms of sleep apnea can include morning headaches, a dry mouth or throat, choking or gasping, and excessive daytime sleepiness. Once diagnosed, a C-PAP machine may be prescribed for sleep, but some patients do not find them comfortable and look for an alternative to help.

Our office works with your doctor and other sleep professionals to find the right oral appliance for your care. Please call us to arrange a consultation on how we can help you.
